Accounts Receivable Coordinator (PT Hours / Flexible Days Onsite)

 

Kaufman Dolowich LLP, a nationally recognized law firm and proud recipient of the U.S. News “Best Companies to Work For – Law Firms” distinction, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Coordinator (PT)  to join our Finance team on a part-time, onsite basis, in our Long Island office location.  

This position offers flexible days of your choice, (approx. 25-29 hours per week) making it an excellent opportunity for an accounts receivable professional seeking a flexible schedule while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing professional services environment. Opportunity to also transition into a full-time and hybrid, role as well.

This role supports the firm’s financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing, reconciliation, and maintenance of client payments and receivable records.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliation of daily deposits, including check postings, to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Research and resolve unidentified or misapplied payments to ensure proper posting to client accounts
  • Provide professional, responsive, and high-quality customer service to clients and internal stakeholders regarding account inquiries
  • Process write-offs in accordance with firm policies and approval procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes
  • Collaborate with attorneys, billing coordinators, and finance team members to resolve payment discrepancies
  • Assist with additional accounts receivable and finance-related tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate can have 1+ years of administrative experience/interest in accounts receivable, cash applications, or related accounting experience preferred. 
  • Legal/Law Firm experience in any capacity, a plus.
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service focus
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a part-time capacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with legal billing and accounting systems is a plus

Compensation: Expected Hiring Range (Hourly): $31.25 – $36.00

The expected hiring range represents a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, relevant experience, skills, and job-related qualifications.
