Corporate Development & Finance Team Description:
We are looking for an exceptional Intern to join our Corporate Development & Finance team. This team facilitates and leads buyer engagement and transactions for projects developed by Chaberton. Team members need to have the capability to build strong cross-functional relationships as they need to have a good grasp of project development timelines and activities which ultimately guide project marketing and sale timelines. The ideal candidate would be detail oriented, structured, have the capacity to grasp and organize varied pieces of information, entrepreneurial, critical thinker, and be a fast learner. The ultimate responsibilities assigned will be tailored to experience and interests for the right candidate.
Potential Responsibilities could include:
- Financial model analysis and upkeep
- Updating and organizing inputs for financial models and supporting development team members in reviewing financial models
- Researching and updating i) Solar and BESS revenue streams and ii) cost assumptions and inputs across Chaberton’s target markets and project types
- Researching and updating commercial ground mounted solar project property tax treatment and rates in Chaberton’s priority States and Counties
- Automating sections of the financial model to increase efficiency
- Partner database management
- Create a central database and process for upkeeping project Buyer information
- Aggregate notes collected on buyer preference and update in database
- Explore, recommend, and implement potential options for automating notifications for NDA expiration
- Transaction facilitation and support
- Coordinate meetings with buyers and potential transaction partners and internally with Development Managers on project updates
- Support transaction team in collecting project documents from internal counterparts and updating to Chaberton’s dataroom
- Quality Assure Chaberton dataroom documents for any discrepancies and alert transaction team on items to verify
- Keep track of incoming communication and help transaction team maintain seamless and timely communication with transaction buyers or other partners
- Other duties as assigned based on business needs and priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Current university student majoring in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar areas of study.
- Strong knowledge or interest in financial analysis and modeling.
- Bias for action and individual motivated to take initiative
- Desire to collaborate and contribute to company and team knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, highly organized, critical thinker, with high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member; maintain an innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and demonstrated interest in renewable energy industry is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a plus
- Experience in automation and coding (e.g. Python, Microsoft PowerApps, etc.) a plus
Internship Logistics:
- Salary: Compensated internship.
- Location: Preference for individuals located in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia as transaction team operates on a 2-3 days/week in office schedule (Chaberton headquarters in Rockville, MD).

- Full-time internship targeting 32-40 hours/week.
- 3-month Internship with possibility of extension.
- Late May/early June start date for Summer 2026 Internship.
