Doral Academy of North Carolina is seeking a dynamic and innovative STEAM teacher for the 2025 - 2026 school year who is passionate about integrating gaming, coding, robotics, and hands-on, real-world learning into the classroom. This teacher will inspire students to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and engineering while building strong foundational academic skills through engaging and authentic expereinces.
Job type: Full-time Pay: $46,057.00 – 79,248.00 per year
Work hours: 7:50AM – 3:50PM
Specific Roles and Responsibilities: Core Instructional Responsibilities
Implement a rigorous, standards-aligned STEAM curriculum with emphasis on project-based learning, coding, robotics, and game-based instruction. Integrate technology tools and platforms (e.g., Scratch, Minecraft Education, robotics kits) that promote computational thinking and creativity. Develop engaging lesson plans that expose students to real-world applications of STEAM fields, including artificial intelligence, engineering, and digital design Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning styles and IEP goals of students. Partner with local tech and engineering organizations to provide students with authentic learning experiences such as mentorships, career days, and real-life projects. Facilitate student-led projects, including participation in robotics competitions, coding showcases, or game design challenges. Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction, and guide students in setting and tracking learning goals.

- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to build a schoolwide culture of innovation and exploration.
- Serve as a STEAM ambassador in the community, building relationships with local businesses, universities, and agencies in the fields of technology, engineering, and digital arts.
- Pursue ongoing professional development in gaming, coding, robotics, and future-focused education practices.
- Maintain open and frequent communication with students, parents, and school leadership.
- Uphold Doral’s mission, vision, and values in all interactions with students, staff, and community partners.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Valid North Carolina teaching certificate (or eligible for reciprocity).
Experience or formal training in one or more of the following: coding, robotics, engineering, game design, or makerspace integration. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for innovative, hands-on teaching and a belief in empowering students through STEAM education
