Position: Driver/Valet, full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week; schedule varies, but may require to work some overtime hours and must have some weekend availability. See schedule details below.

  • Monday – Friday hours are from 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Third Monday of Each Month: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 
  • Approximately 2 Saturday evenings per month from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Approximately 1 Saturday afternoon per month from 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Pay: $18.00 -$21.32, depending on experience

Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Summary:

The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Driver and Valet to join our team! This position is responsible for transporting residents to grocery store, monthly outings and extended trips as scheduled as well as providing daily Valet services. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pickup and deliver residents safely to all scheduled activities where transportation is needed.
  • Make miscellaneous trips for the office to the bank, printer, post office, etc. as needed.
  • When vehicles arrive for valet, opens doors and greet members and guests.
  • Carefully help members and guest who need assistance. Retrieve/Replace walkers, wheelchairs, etc. and assist when a need is perceived.
  • Perform vehicle parking duties at the clubhouse for members and guests.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of six to twelve months’ experience as a bus/van driver required.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older and have a valid driver license and maintain a “clean” driving record.
  • Must have CDL with “P” endorsement.
  • Ability to count and perform simple logic exercises to properly park and retrieve vehicles.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Pleasant, tactful, courteous, and cooperative with both members and other employees.
  • Ability to fully comprehend others and communicate in a respectful, understanding, and empathetic manner demonstrating tolerance and exemplary customer service with members, families, guests, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and any other outside contacts.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

This position requires sitting 50% of the day and must be able to frequently stand, stoop, bend, squat throughout a shift and be able to stand/walk for up to 50% of the work day. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. without assistance and carry for 15 feet. 

Exposure to inclement weather conditions i.e., rain, cold, heat, etc. Must be able to frequently get in and out of automobiles and drive short distances for member pick-up and deliveries. Must be able to continuously walk or jog on a hilly plane to park and retrieve vehicles.
