Physical Therapist

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Cumming, GA. In this role, you will partner closely with orthopedic physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to guide patients through recovery from injury, surgery, and musculoskeletal conditions. Your work will directly support patients in regaining strength, mobility, and confidence in their daily lives.

Your Impactful Role

As a Physical Therapist at Peachtree Orthopedics, you will play an essential role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through personalized treatment and evidence-based care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions to determine functional limitations and rehabilitation needs
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals based on physician referrals and clinical findings
  • Administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional mobility training to improve patient outcomes
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans to maximize recovery and functional improvement
  • Documenting patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Participating in interdisciplinary care discussions and collaborating with physicians and healthcare staff regarding patient treatment plans
  • Educating patients and family members on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and techniques for continuing therapy at home
  • Evaluating and recommending adaptive equipment or assistive devices when appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate patient charts and ensuring documentation meets regulatory and organizational standards
  • Supporting a positive patient experience through compassionate, professional care

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support patient care and clinic operations.

Who You Are

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Georgia required
  • Experience in orthopedic or outpatient physical therapy preferred
  • Knowledge of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise techniques

Certifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

Technical Skills

  • Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Athena or similar platforms
  • General proficiency with standard computer applications used in clinical environments

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

This position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assisting patients with mobility and transfers. Physical therapists may be required to lift or assist patients weighing up to 100 pounds, often with appropriate safety equipment and team support.

The work environment is a clinical healthcare setting with a moderate noise level.
