Business Development Representative
Business Development Representative Mobizwiz | Braintree, MA | Full-Time
Most people graduate and spend months figuring out what they want to do. Some people skip that phase entirely.
Mobizwiz is where ambitious people come to build real careers — fast. We partner with AT&T to bring their products and services directly to consumers inside major retail locations across the Greater Boston area. No cubicle. No scripts. No wondering if your work matters. You talk to real people, solve real problems, and get paid based on how well you do it.
We started the same way you would — entry level, no connections, just effort. Every single manager on our team was promoted from within. Nobody here was handed a title. That's not a slogan. It's how the business works.
If you're the kind of person who wants to earn based on what you actually produce — and you're willing to be coached, challenged, and pushed — keep reading.
What This Role Actually Looks Like
You'll work face-to-face with customers inside retail locations like Target, Walmart, BJ's, and Best Buy. This is consultative, relationship-based selling — you're helping people find better solutions for their wireless and home services, not pressuring anyone into anything.
Here's what your days will involve:
- Having real conversations with customers — reading their energy, understanding their situation, and matching them with the right product. No cold calling. No telemarketing. Every interaction starts because a customer is already there.
- Learning a structured sales system that top performers in our company have used for years — not guesswork, not "figure it out yourself," but a repeatable process with coaching at every step.
- Tracking your own numbers daily. You'll always know exactly where you stand — contacts, presentations, closes. No ambiguity, no waiting for a quarterly review to find out how you're doing.
- Getting coached every single day. Morning meetings, real-time field feedback, and weekly one-on-ones with your manager. This isn't a "check in once a month" environment.
- Building toward leadership. Once you hit your benchmarks, you start developing others — running training, mentoring newer reps, and learning the operational side of the business.
What We're Looking For
We don't hire résumés. We hire people. If you check most of these boxes, we want to hear from you:
- You can hold a real conversation. People open up to you. You're not awkward, you're not robotic — you know how to connect.
- You're competitive. Not in a toxic way — in a "I'm not okay with average" way. You want to win and you're willing to put in the reps to get there.
- You're reliable. You show up. On time. Every day. Our team depends on each other and that starts with consistency.
- You take feedback well. Not just "I hear you" — you actually apply it the next day. Coachability is the single biggest predictor of success here.
- You bring energy. Even on hard days. Especially on hard days. Attitude is a skill and we train it like one.
- You're pursuing or have completed a degree (any field). Preferred, not required. We care far more about who you are than what you studied.
What You'll Earn
Your compensation is directly tied to your performance — not politics, not seniority, not how long you've been here.
- $45,000 – $65,000+ in your first year for strong, consistent performers. Base pay is guaranteed. Commission is uncapped. The harder and smarter you work, the more you make.
- Health benefits available.
- Paid time off.
- Bonus opportunities tied to individual and team performance.
How You'll Grow
This is where Mobizwiz is fundamentally different from most entry-level roles. There is a real, structured, merit-based path here — and people move through it fast.
Entry-Level Representative — Master the systems. Learn how to sell with confidence and consistency. Most reps who commit fully start seeing real traction within their first 2–3 weeks.
Team Lead — Once you're producing at a high level, you begin developing others. You'll co-run training sessions, mentor new hires, and sharpen your leadership skills in real time. Timeline: 3–6 months for high performers.
Assistant Manager — You take on operational responsibilities — interviewing, scheduling, running meetings. You're learning how to manage a business, not just work in one. Timeline: 6–12 months.
Manager — You open and run your own market. Build your own team. Create your own income. This is the endgame — and every manager we have started exactly where you'd be starting. Timeline: 12–24 months for the most driven individuals.
We promote 100% from within. There is no external hire above you. Your ceiling is entirely self-imposed.
A Typical Day
You arrive at our Braintree office for a high-energy morning meeting — goal review, skill sharpening, team games. You head to your assigned retail location with your team. You spend the day in real conversations with real customers — presenting products, handling objections, and closing sales. You track every number. At the end of the day, you debrief with your manager, celebrate wins, and set your targets for tomorrow.
The best days feel like competition. The hardest days build the most character. Every day, you get better at something.
Who Thrives Here
This role is built for someone who:
- Wants to earn real money — not a participation paycheck
- Gets restless sitting behind a desk all day
- Would rather learn by doing than by watching lectures
- Wants skills that translate to any career, any industry, for life
- Is looking for a team that actually feels like a team
Who This Isn't For
If you want something slow, quiet, and predictable — this isn't it. If you're looking for a role where effort is optional and everyone gets the same outcome regardless — this isn't it. We respect that. It's just not what we do.
How to Apply
APPLY HERE. Qualified candidates will be contacted within 48 hours for a brief phone screen. Our interview process is fast — typically 1–2 weeks from first contact to offer.
We review every single application. No application goes unseen.
One Last Thing
Three of our current leaders started with zero sales experience. One was a biology major. One was working retail part-time and wasn't sure what was next. They all had the same thing in common — they showed up, stayed coachable, and refused to settle. That's the only qualification that actually matters here.
