Summer Internship - Sales Development

Mezcalum is a premium, artisanal mezcal crafted using traditional, sustainable production methods and natural ingredients. Inspired by Tulum, handcrafted in Oaxaca. As we grow, we’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Sales Development Intern to join our vibrant team in NYC. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of craft spirits while contributing to a growing startup brand's success.

What You’ll Do:

As a Sales Development Intern at Mezcalum, you’ll support the sales team by enhancing brand awareness, engaging with potential customers, and driving sales efforts. Your contributions will help drive sales initiatives with retailers and hospitality partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate new relationships with target accounts, including bars, restaurants, and liquor stores.
  • Represent Mezcalum at promotional events, tastings, and trade shows to engage with potential customers.
  • Educate customers and clients about Mezcalum’s unique qualities and production process.
  • Support marketing initiatives by collaborating with the team on brand activations.
  • Conduct competitive research to identify market opportunities and consumer trends.
  • Provide feedback and insights from customer interactions to help shape future sales strategies.
  • Assist in maintaining customer databases and tracking sales performance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • We’re seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing individual who is passionate about brand building and sales.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree program (business, marketing, or related field preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with customers.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Interest in the food and beverage or alcohol industry is a bonus.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for events as needed.
