Clinician II - House Manager
The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a Clinician II who has experience working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities in an ICF/ ID Residential/long-term care setting with supervisory experience for our West Neck Intermediate Care Facility. The ideal candidate would have experience working with individuals in an ICF setting, and have experience supervising direct care staff, scheduling, and a knowledge of DBHDS and ICF regulations. Duties:
Hire city and relief direct care staff and create a weekly staffing schedule ensuring that there is adequate staffing on each shift.
Orient all new staff; supervise and complete quarterly observations for quality assurance, ensuring program implementation and documentation.
Supervise all city and contract DSP staff in the house; complete quality assurance reviews including documentation, and complete annual performance appraisals.
Work closely with QIDP and shift leaders to ensure that the client’s individual program plans are being followed and that active treatment is taking place and confer with the nurse on duty regarding healthcare issues.
Oversee issues affecting the physical environment and the safety of clients, including food preparation and food storage.
Complete, delegate, and ensure completion of all safety drills and inspections listed in the Facility Procedures – fire, water temperatures, food storage and food serving temperatures, natural and manmade disasters – and ensure that all staff are prepared to provide for the safety of all residents.
Ensure the safety of all equipment, maintain a clean facility, report all problems, and request needed supplies.
Provide excellent customer service to all families and visitors to the facility, documenting contacts where necessary in the electronic health record of the resident.
Maintain excellent communication – verbal, e-mail, etc – with the QDDP and nursing regarding all resident programming issues and be prepared to act as a backup when needed.

$1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
$1,250 will be awarded upon completing the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
$1,750 will be awarded upon completing the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.
