Facilities Staff

The Archer School for Girls is currently seeking a Facilities Staff member. The goal of the Facilities Staff member is to maintain a clean, safe and operational facility for use by students, faculty & staff, and visitors. Facilities Staff members support all site operations for the school facility, including event related needs such as set-up and outside vendor liaising. Facility Staff are part of the larger Facilities & Operations team and report to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include:

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager for both the main campus and at the Head of School Residence. 
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard of detail:
    • Regular cleaning of assigned locations and appliances therein.
    • Replenishment of supplies for restrooms and faculty / staff kitchens.
    • Laundering services for items such as tablecloths, science lab coats, uniforms, and furniture covers.
    • Fulfill set up and tear down requests for campus event operations as assigned.
    • Perform shipping and receiving tasks.
    • Perform tasks as needed to ensure the building is secure and safe in all weather conditions and emergency situations. 
    • Assist with Campus Monitoring as needed, including traffic and pedestrian management for events and student drop off / pick up.
  • Maintain an awareness and sensitivity to the dynamic school schedule and juggle of shared space. 
  • Perform weekly housekeeping and occasional event support tasks at the Head of School residence.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, bulbs, and HVAC components.
  • Monitor two-way radio for any emergencies or requests that need immediate attention. 
  • During school breaks and as needed, assist with facility project completion, including movement of classroom and office furniture.
  • Other Facility & Operations related duties as assigned such as aiding campus security when needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Exhibits polite, helpful, positive, flexible, and professional demeanor with a wide variety of visitors and guests within a busy school environment.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Able to spend extended periods of time walking/standing.
  • Able to comply with physical requirements; full range of motion with both hands and arms, ability to climb stairs and ladders, ability to lift 25 lbs. or less.
  • Comfort level with basic computer technologies, including work order and ticket management technologies. 
  • Available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Able to follow direction and handle multiple projects typical in a high energy school environment. 

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Salary Range: $24.76 to $31.25 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience).
