Ceramics/Fine Arts Instructor
Deer Mountain Day Camp is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Fine Arts Instructor to lead our Ceramics & Pottery Program. This program serves campers entering Kindergarten through 8th grade. In addition to sculpting and hand-building, older campers receive instruction on the potter’s wheel. Our fully equipped facility includes pottery wheels and a kiln.
Experience with digital photography and Photoshop is a plus.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Develop engaging curriculum ideas, lesson plans, and sample projects
- Create supply and materials order lists
- Bring a fun, positive, and flexible attitude
- Ability to contribute to additional Fine Arts areas is a plus (photography, woodworking, painting, drawing, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus ideally in the field of Education or experience working with children in a camp and/or school setting
- Camp experience a plus

Camp Dates & Schedule:
- Monday, June 29 - Thursday, August 20, 2026 (No camp on July 3)
- Monday through Friday - 8:15 AM - 4:15 PM
About Deer Mountain Day Camp:
Deer Mountain Day Camp is located in Pomona, NY, just minutes from Woodcliff Lake, Mahwah, Montvale, and Suffern, and approximately 25 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We serve campers ages 3–15 from Rockland, Bergen, Orange, Westchester, Hudson Counties, and New York City.
