TL Sr Purchasing Manager

Reporting to the Director of Research Procurement and Property Records, the Team Lead - Sr. Purchasing Manager leads a team of three buyers and one purchasing clerk and is responsible for the daily purchasing operations. This position assists with customer and supplier relations management tasks to include reporting and recommending action plans especially regarding IT related suppliers and transactions. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience OR a Master's degree plus a minimum of 5 years experience is required.
Ability to read and speak English.
Excellent organization skills.
Excellent telephone manner, oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proficient with computer software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to prioritize work effectively and to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Valid driver's license with low risk driving record.
Due to requirements of our Federal Government research contracts candidates must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Experience with ISO, Lean 6 Sigma or like process improvement tools.
Experience with eProcurement system especially SciQuest\JAGGAER.
Five years supervisory experience.
Procurement experience in an academic, research, or Government Contracting environment. Experience with small business recruitment. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations.
