Oklahoma State Casework Supervisor

Tulsa, OK

Status: Full-time

*This position must live and work within the state of Oklahoma.*

Position Summary: Provides supervision and on-going support, consultation, direction, instruction and advice for the social work and case management staff assigned under the supervision of the State Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work (REQUIRED)
  • Two (2) years paid employment in a child placement agency (REQUIRED)
  • Graduate or certified social work license from the applicable state board of licensing
  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
  • Actively leads the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with them, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.
  • Disciples' employees for the benefit of our ministry partners and clients.
  • Aligns team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values
  • Ensures spiritual support is offered in a respectful, non-threatening manner, providing opportunities for gospel-centered encouragement, prayer, and discipleship when appropriate.

Supervision & Staff Development

  • Provides individual and group supervision for state social work, case management, pregnancy counseling, church-based program, and family recruitment staff.
  • Supervises state Specialists and other assigned roles, providing oversight, direction, coaching, and accountability across all assigned programs, including social services supervision to applicable social work and case management employees, within the scope of assigned program(s).
  • Meets regularly with staff to review cases, assess and identify risks, develop service plans, and support effective decision-making.
  • Contributes to annual staff evaluations and performance development within assigned program(s).
  • Provides contracted social work supervision for assigned BSWs and MSWs requiring licensure supervision by the State Board of Social Work, when applicable.
  • Ensures new hire onboarding and ongoing training requirements are met in compliance with agency, state, federal, and Hague standards.
  • Adheres to excellent social service standards and practice in compliance with Lifeline’s Core Values and Ministry Goals through consistent support, training and development
  • Supervises and assists with recruitment, assessment, and file reviews for clients and families

Program Oversight & Compliance

  • Oversees pregnancy counseling, domestic & international adoption, foster care-related services (as applicable), church-based programs, and family recruitment initiatives within assigned state(s).
  • Adheres to excellent social service standards and practice in compliance with Lifeline’s Core Values and Ministry Goals, as well as all applicable state, federal, and Hague regulations, through consistent support, training and development
  • Senior Managers are responsible for adherence to state licensing and compliance requirements; Managers may assume these responsibilities in the absence of a Senior Manager.
  • Consults with appropriate Leadership Team members on situations requiring further review, investigation, or approval

Pregnancy Counseling & Family Services (Adoption, Foster Care, Foster Care Adoption, Harbor Families) Oversight

  • Provides supervision and guidance to pregnancy counseling and family services staff serving women, couples, families and children. if within the scope of assigned program(s)
  • Supports staff in assessment processes, client readiness evaluations, crisis intervention, and ongoing case management.
  • Reviews completed expectant parent, adoptive family, foster care, foster care adoption, Harbor Families, and birth parent files to ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, timely, verified, and compliant with agency, state, federal, and program-specific requirements; makes recommendations for corrective action or follow-up as needed.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and approves program-related submissions, including in-state adoption, foster care, and foster care adoption applications and home studies (including those conducted by unaccredited agencies requiring a Certificate of Approval), and provides final approval of home studies and comparable assessments based on review of the complete and compliant record, when within the scope of assigned program(s).
  • Carries a caseload as needed of pregnancy counseling, adoption, foster care, foster care adoption and/or Harbor Families as needed to support program needs.

Family Recruitment

  • Oversees and supports family recruitment efforts across all applicable programs, including domestic adoption, international adoption, foster care adoption, hosting, Harbor Families, and church-based initiatives.
  • Ensures adoption information meetings and options counseling are conducted with excellence and consistency.
  • Guides staff in raising awareness of waiting children and the need for families.
  • Reviews assessments to ensure families are appropriately equipped to care for children and meet program eligibility requirements.

Church-Based Programs & Community Partnerships

  • Provides oversight of Lifeline’s church-based programs, including Families Count, Heritage Builders, Worthy, and Harbor Families.
  • Supports the development, training, coordination, and ongoing engagement of church partners.
  • Strengthens collaboration between churches, community partners, and referral sources.
  • Oversees implementation of Harbor Families family preservation services, including volunteer assessment, equipping, and support.
  • Ensures church-based programs align with Lifeline’s mission, standards, and outcomes.

Church Engagement, Networking & Advancement Support

  • Supports and collaborates with staff on pregnancy counseling networking and relationship-building with community referral sources.
  • Encourages and supports church engagement efforts, including live presence opportunities, adoption information meetings, and biblical teaching on caring for vulnerable children.
  • Partners with state leadership and advancement teams to support fundraising, marketing, and mission-awareness initiatives.
  • Encourages churches to deepen engagement, including becoming Lifeline giving partners.
  • If there is no existing separate Pregnancy Counseling, Foster Care, Harbor Families, or Adoption Manager in the state, the Senior Manager will assume the responsibilities of that role and oversee case management staff and case work.
  • The duties and responsibilities assigned to senior managers or manager above must adhere to individual state licensing requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or member of the Executive Team

Work Environment:

  • This position operates in a remote office environment
  • Occasional travel around the state may be required

State Specific Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • Two (2) years paid employment in a child placement agency (REQUIRED)
  • Complete annual training hours as determined by State child-placing regulations and Hague requirements, whichever is greater.
