Cabin And Activities Counselor

Cabin and activities counselor for all girls summer camp.  No experience is necessary.  A love of being outdoors, learning new things, and working with kids are the pre-requisites.  Counselors are responsible for a cabin of 6 to 9 girls, grouped by age.  Counselors also teach 3 out of 4 activity periods plus a short nature skills/appreciation class every day.  Activities include horseback riding, archery, tennis, fencing, marksmanship, crafts, recreational gymnastics, swimming, canoeing, sailing, camping and cooking outdoors.  These activities are multi-age groups.  Prior to camper arrival, counselors will have ample time to learn all skills necessary for success.  As a very small camp staff, counselors have daily access to administrative staff if assistance is needed.

Counselors must be able to be on their feet for up to 3 hours at a time, must be able to walk at least 1 mile in less than 20 minutes without stopping, and must be able to be away from cell phones and technology for up to 24 hours.  We are a technology free camp and expect counselors to set aside cell phones whenever campers are present.  

We are looking for active young women who want to teach others how to be independent young people; we are not a glorified babysitting service.  Our counselors need to be able to keep up with the excited campers and have FUN!
