Position Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, and provides treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This role focuses on supporting development and improving functional independence through individualized treatment planning and family-centered care.
This position primarily serves outpatient pediatric populations. Clinical responsibilities may vary by location and may include specialized diagnostic or instrumental evaluations when applicable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Speech-Language Pathology license in good standing in the State of Michigan
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA OR Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate
- CFY clinicians must complete CCC within 2 years of hire and will be supervised by an ASHA-certified clinician
- Clinical experience preferred
- BLS certification required within 3 months of hire

- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required for payer enrollment (Bronson assists with enrollment)
- Some locations may require background check and fingerprinting
- Some locations may require weekend or holiday rotation
Driving Requirement (if applicable)
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle available for business use
- Proof of valid auto insurance
- Successful Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check prior to start date
- Employees are responsible for maintaining current insurance documentation and updating vehicle information as applicable.

Clinical Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement therapy referrals
- Evaluate speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Perform standardized assessments and establish functional baselines
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals
- Provide direct patient care and therapeutic interventions
- Screen for hearing concerns as part of evaluation
- Provide patient and family education
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
- Perform video swallow studies when applicable to site
- Support program development and process improvement initiatives
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide educational in-services
- Cross-train and provide coverage across Rehabilitation Services as needed
Administrative Responsibilities
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, interventions, and patient progress accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Communicate documentation barriers to leadership promptly
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Provide education to staff and community partners
- Serve on committees and task forces
- Supervise students and volunteers
- Demonstrate effective time management
- The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for maintaining and advancing professional competencies based on patient populations served and evolving healthcare practices.
Physical and Work Environment
