Patient Care Representative - Dental

Southside Community Health Services (SCHS) is a mission-driven nonprofit clinic in South Minneapolis seeking a Patient Care Representative – Dental (PCR-D) to support efficient patient flow, excellent customer service, and accurate front-desk operations within the dental clinic.

About the Role

The PCR-D serves as the primary point of contact for dental patients, supporting appointment scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and point-of-service collections. This role is essential to creating a welcoming patient experience while ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, schedule and confirm dental appointments, and manage patient flow
  • Complete pre-visit processes and ensure appointments are appropriately prepared
  • Greet patients, update registration information, and assist with new patient intake
  • Verify insurance coverage and identify opportunities for patient advocacy support
  • Assign charges and collect payments at the time of service
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming front office and lobby area
  • Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement activities, and clinic operations
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Training or experience as a dental assistant or dental receptionist
  • Experience scheduling dental appointments
  • Epic software experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or Somali) preferred
  • Strong computer skills
