Registered Dietitian
Develops and maintains written nutritional policies and procedures.
Conducts a nutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from resident.
Participates in surveys made by authorized government agencies and develops a plan of correction for any dietary service deficiencies.
Consults with physician and other health care personnel to determine resident's nutritional needs and diet restrictions, such as low fat or salt free.
Formulates menus for therapeutic diets based on medical and physical condition of residents, and integrates residents' menus with basic institutional menus.
Develops and implements plan of care based on assessment of nutritional needs and available sources, and correlates plan with other healthcare.
Instructs residents about meal plan and dietary changes, and establishes goals and objectives to help meet the plan.
Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow-up continuity of care.
Documents nutrition care plans and information into resident's medical records.
Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance.
Instructs residents and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.
Supervises activities of workers engaged in food preparation and service.
Engages in nutritional research.
Teaches nutrition and diet therapy to facility personnel.
Completes assigned sections on the MDS
Must be a Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of Ohio.
