Instructional Paraprofessional, Infant/Toddler (Center Based) - Early Childhood Education
INSTRUCTIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL, INFANT/TODDLER (CENTER BASED) – EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
1. Assist the teacher in creating a lesson plan to implement activities that are researched based according to local, State and Federal regulations.
2. Facilitate individual and/or small group instructional activities under the direction of the teacher.
3. Maintain a safe and clean learning environment that assures the well-being and safety of children.
4. Assist the teacher in preparing and maintaining records and reports required for individual children, classes, and program compliance.
5. Assist the teacher in maintaining accurate and current assessment information.
6. Assist in the supervision of play, sleep and mealtime activities to meet required program regulations and ratios.
7. Assist and maintain awareness and care for infant/toddler daily needs and health needs, (including feeding, toileting and safe sleep).
8. Assist with promoting parental involvement in curriculum planning, program governance, and the overall Infant/Toddler Program.
9. Report and maintain databases on information related to areas of responsibility.
10. Participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, webinars, literature review, etc. and share according to a predetermined plan.
11. Utilize technology as appropriate to the position.
12. Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to speak, read and write in English using correct grammar and syntax. Ability to understand and implement oral and written directions in English. Ability to work effectively and efficiently without close supervision. Oral and written communication skills. Respect the confidentiality of school-related incidents and information. Demonstrate knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, State Regulations, Early Childhood Education policies/procedures and Modesto City Schools policies/procedures. Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Title 22 Regulations
Experience performing instructional duties and responsibilities in an early childhood education setting or social services environment.
