Job Summary
Assist the Engineering department in successfully achieving manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. This position offers a variety of opportunities including basic engineering tasks related to design, analysis, test, integration and systems engineering. Opportunities can vary from performing analysis on existing hardware, assisting in the design and development of future hardware, performing analysis for both completed and future equipment, test, systems engineering, quality assurance, system safety, and production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Improve material handling methods.
- Develop quoting tools that allows the calculation of pricing based on a set of input dimensions as specified by an end user.
- Perform work station/cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Assist with plant layout and work station design.
- Develop computer programs to help manipulate data for use.
- Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
- Create documentation for new product launches.
- All other duties or projects as assigned.
Interns will typically support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.
Basic Qualifications
- Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Manufacturing, Industrial, and Mechanical, or other related Engineering field.
- Candidates must have completed their second year of engineering studies.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must be a US Citizen or have legal US working status.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge or exposure to 3D software (CREO Preferred)
- Working knowledge or exposure to ERP systems
- Experience in Visual Studio and .Net
- Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
- Experience in CREO - especially Piping & Cabling
- Previous internship experience in Design Work
