3-Year Banking Leadership Development Program

Position Overview

Extraco Banks is seeking Full-Time employees to participate in our comprehensive Officer Development Program, a structured 3-year experience designed to develop future banking leaders. We are looking for candidates who aspire to work in the Central Texas Area post-graduation and are ready to build a rewarding career in community banking.

Essential Skills Required

  • Technical Proficiency
    • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge in overall computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office skills (Excel Preferred) with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and create queries to produce operational reports
    • Understanding of Accounting principles including, but not limited to Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statements of Cash Flows
  • Communication & Analytical Skills
    • Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Quick, driven self-starter with the ability to initiate, develop, and execute tasks in a timely manner

Program Structure

Duration: 24 to 36 months

Management: Overseen by the Director of Human Resources

Format: Rotational assignments with structured learning objectives

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete all assigned rotational experiences
  • Participate actively in training programs and professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate effectively with team members across all business units

  • Build relationships with customers, colleagues, and community partners

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Public Relations, or other related fields
  • Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
  • Must have completed 9 hours of Financial and Managerial Accounting courses
  • Ability to work in multiple locations within Extraco's core markets
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new concepts quickly
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
  • Commitment to ethical banking practices and regulatory compliance

Preferred:

  • Previous banking, finance, or customer service experience
  • Connection to or interest in the Central Texas community
  • Leadership experience through work, academic, or volunteer activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and banking software
