Starting Salary: $50,821.51 / $24.43/hr. 

Pay Grade Z-160

                              

Non-Exempt

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in GIS, geography, cartography, urban planning, civil engineering or related technical field. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.  

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Plans, directs and participates in the acquisition, installation, administration and operation of the City’s geographic information system (GIS) and permit system. Prepares GIS report for various projects and studies related to engineering, assessment of real property and/or municipal planning. Assists in the review of development petitions. Prepares memos, reports, and agenda items on Planning projects. Participates in department meetings for the purpose of work review, project planning, and assessment. Attends City Council, Planning Commission, and other meetings as required. Responds to general GIS mapping and Planning/Zoning inquiries from the general public, taxpayers, real estate professionals and developers. Completes other related duties as assigned.

 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: The selected candidate will have a background check completed and complete a physical exam before employment. Possession of a current valid Florida driver license is also required before employment. 

 

The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
