Summer of Science Lead
Position Overview:
The Summer of Science STEM Educator leads hands-on, science-themed summer camps designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning in kids. Educators will work with groups of 10–20 campers, guiding them through engaging STEM activities in a fun, interactive environment. This role is ideal for college students, preservice teachers, and experienced educators who are passionate about STEM education and enjoy working with children.
Responsibilities:
Plan and facilitate hands-on STEM activities for campers.
Ensure a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment.
Supervise and manage groups of 10–20 children.
Adapt activities to meet different age groups and learning styles.
Maintain a clean and organized camp space, including setup and cleanup.
Assist with camper drop-off, pick-up, and transitions between activities.
Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create a positive experience for all campers.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in an educational or camp setting preferred.
Background in STEM education, science communication, or teaching is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Enthusiasm for STEM education and hands-on learning.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
