Sailing Instructor
Located in the Adirondacks, Point O’Pines Camp for Girls is looking for Sailing Instructors to teach safe, age-appropriate sailing, help campers build skills and confidence on the water, and serve as a Specialty Counselor in the waterfront program. Sailing Instructors may serve as in-bunk or out-of-bunk staff depending on camp needs.
Key Responsibilities
Sailing & Specialty Area
- Plan and lead daily sailing lessons, including boat handling, rigging, safety, and navigation.
- Teach fundamental and advanced sailing skills while promoting teamwork, confidence, and water safety.
- Adapt instruction for varying ages and ability levels.
- Ensure camper safety, including proper use of life jackets and equipment.
- Maintain and organize boats and sailing equipment.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
General Specialty Counselor Duties
- Supervise campers and ensure active, safe participation.
- Participate in camp-wide day and evening activities.
- Support camp operations and special events as assigned.
Accommodation and food is provided throughout the duration of the summer.
