About Us
Camp Timberlake is a Christian adventure summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Marion, North Carolina. For over 60 years, Timberlake has been a place where boys and staff grow through adventure, friendship, and faith.
About the Role
Serve as a leader, teacher, and mentor for boys ages 6–16. Counselors teach activities, live in cabins, and help create a fun, safe, Christ-centered camp community. With a total staff of 60 we are intentionally smaller than other camps so that every staff member is known, supported, and advocated for during and outside of summer.
Responsibilities
- Lead and teach 1–3 assigned activities (ex: climbing, mountain biking, archery, swimming, pottery, kayaking, etc.).
- Build relationships with campers; supervise cabin life, routines, and safety.
- Support and play in evening programs, tribe competitions, and special events.
- Encourage growth in character: courage, humility, grit, empathy.
- Maintain safe program areas and equipment.
Qualifications
- Follower of Christ; desire to positively impact the next generation and serve youth.
- Freshman through Senior year of college
- Team-oriented, trustworthy, good attitude, flexible; activity skills a plus (training provided).
