At North Carolina Farm Bureau, we provide "Real Service by Real People". This program is designed to provide a real snapshot of the insurance and financial services industry while allowing you to develop essential business skills.
The Experience
As a Farm Bureau intern, you will participate in real work every day, dealing with agency staff, home office personnel, and existing and prospective clients. This experience is intended to provide students the opportunity to practice business skills learned in school while gaining practical work experience.
Key areas of focus include:
- Professional Development: Develop the knowledge, skills, and capabilities needed to support various functions in our marketing and sales departments.
- Agency Exposure: Gain insight into daily operations alongside experienced agents and staff.
- Career Pathing: Upon completion of a successful internship, there is an opportunity to be considered for a contract as an agent with the company.
Program Details
- Commitment: 15 hours per week for 10 weeks.
- Education: Includes one 40-hour week dedicated to Property/Casualty school.
- Timing: Internships are offered during the Spring Semester, Summer Schools, and Fall Semester.
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in good academic standing toward graduation.
- Skills: Effective interpersonal communication and basic computer skills.
- Traits: Self-motivated, competitive, passionate, high-energy, and personable.
