Development Pitch Writer

Internship: TV Development Writer — Pitch Package Polish

Hemmy Productions is seeking a TV Development Writing Intern to help finalize the written portion of a network-targeted pitch package for an original television series currently in active development.

This role is strictly focused on writing polish and clarity, not presentation or design.

What you’ll be working on

  • Providing a final polish to an existing TV pitch package
  • Tightening language for clarity, tone, and flow
  • Ensuring consistency across sections (logline, series overview, format, tone)
  • Aligning the writing with network and production company expectations
  • Making the material read cleanly, confidently, and executive-ready

This is not a feedback-only role — we are looking for someone who is comfortable actively fixing and refining language so the package is truly final.

What this role is NOT

  • Not graphic design or layout
  • Not presentation formatting
  • Not brainstorming or exploratory development
  • Not a first-draft writing role

The structure and content already exist — this role is about precision and polish.

Ideal background

  • Screenwriting, TV writing, or film & media studies
  • Experience with pitch decks, series bibles, or development materials
  • Strong editorial instincts and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with existing material and producer direction
  • Interest in television development and packaging

What you’ll gain

  • Credit on a real network-facing pitch package
  • Hands-on experience in professional TV development
  • Insight into how projects are prepared for networks and production companies
  • Resume-worthy development and editorial experience

Additional notes

  • This is a short-term, focused role with clear deliverables
  • NDA required prior to reviewing materials
  • Best suited for someone interested in development, packaging, or representation-side work

Application Requirements:
Please submit:

  • Resume
  • A brief cover letter answering:
    • Why are you interested in television development and packaging (not screenwriting)?
    • What do you think makes a pitch package effective for network executives?

Optional:

  • A short writing sample relevant to development or pitch materials
