Student Success Coach

Student Success Coach

Skillify | Las Vegas, NV (Summerlin)

This opportunity is for someone who's ready to dive into a fast-paced role. Someone who wants to be part of building something that matters, not just clocking hours at a job.

We're Skillify. We've helped thousands of students across 220+ schools find mentors, gain confidence, and discover career paths they didn't know existed. We're a tiny team (5 people) doing the work of companies 10x our size — because we move fast, hold ourselves to high standards, and actually care.

The Culture

  • High standards, high support. We expect excellence and we'll help you get there.
  • Move fast, stay scrappy. We don't wait for permission. We figure it out.
  • Collaborative, not competitive. Small team = everyone matters. Your ideas matter on day one.
  • Fun matters. We work hard AND we like each other. Team dinners, travel, inside jokes — the whole thing.
  • Mission over ego. We're here for students. Everything else is secondary.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll be the coach students text when they're stuck, scared, or celebrating. You're their hype person, their accountability partner, and sometimes just the person who believes in them when no one else does.

Day-to-day:

  • Travel to schools for in-person events and career conferences
  • Message students throughout their mentorship journey — celebrating wins, nudging them forward, keeping momentum
  • Respond fast (we promise students replies within 5 minutes — you make that happen)
  • Keep systems running: scheduling, tracking, onboarding new schools and students, conducting progress calls with teachers
  • Work with AI tools that handle the busywork so you can focus on the human stuff
  • Whatever else needs doing — we're a startup, roles flex

Who Thrives Here

Recent grads who are looking for their "first real thing" — the opportunity where they can grow into a leader. People who chose a scrappy startup over a big-name company because they want ownership, not a title. The person who was president of three clubs, tutored on the side, and still asked “what else can I help with?”

You're Right for This If...

You're hungry. You want to grow fast, take on responsibility, and prove yourself. You're not waiting to be told what to do.

You're all in. Part-time energy doesn't work here. You want something you can pour yourself into.

You're resourceful. When you hit a wall, you find a way around it. Google, ask questions, figure it out — you don't freeze.

You're reliable. When you say you'll do something, it happens. People trust you.

You're relationship-oriented. You remember details. You follow up. You make people feel seen.

You're an optimistic problem-solver. Things break, plans change, students ghost. You stay positive and adapt.

You love systems. Checklists, trackers, organized chaos — you thrive when things have structure.

You light up around students. You genuinely enjoy young people and want to help them win.

You want mentorship. You'll work directly with our founders. You want to learn from people who've built something.

You're excited to travel. School visits, conferences, events — you want to be in the room, not just behind a screen.

Requirements

  • Work with us in-person in our office in Summerlin
  • Open to working late hours to support students 9am - 7pm PT every day. We have weekend shifts as well, they are more “on-call” and supported by other team members. We provide dinners in the office when we have days that go past 5pm PT
  • Mastery of Google Drive or tools like Notion for staying organized
  • Strong written communication (you'll be messaging all day)
  • Comfortable learning new tech and AI tools quickly
  • Open to traveling 2-3x/week including overnight travel
  • Valid drivers license and car, and ability to drive 3+ hours to schools when needed
  • Bonus: experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, teaching, or customer-facing roles

Why This Role is Special

  • Real impact. Not "we move the needle on Q3 metrics" — actual students whose lives change because of your work.
  • Founder access. You'll learn directly from people who've built this company for 12+ years.
  • Growth trajectory. We're scaling fast. People who prove themselves here don't stay entry-level long.
  • A team that's actually fun. We like working together. That's rare — and it matters.
