Project Description:

Camp Courageous is a year-round recreation and respite care facility that annually serves over 6,000 people with disabilities. They are dedicated to creating a world where people of all abilities have access to enriching recreational experiences. The camp offers diverse activities like canoeing, swimming, climbing, caving, archery, and horseback riding, ensuring individuals with disabilities—and their families—can enjoy these experiences in a safe, inclusive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Counselors are responsible for scheduling and supervising all camp experiences for their assigned groups of campers and for providing the care, safety, and well-being of those campers.
2. The Nursing Assistant assists with preparing campers’ medical service records, administering medication to campers as designated, and performing various other duties.
3. The Maintenance/Housekeeping Assistant helps to maintain the camp’s facilities and grounds.
4. The Dietary Assistant helps provide food service for campers.

BVS Volunteers receive a $250 stipend per month. Food, housing, and insurance are also provided in addition to the stipend. Volunteer positions are for one year with option for extension.
