Talent and Events Intern

Position Title: Talent Intern

Reports To: Talent Acquisition Senior Manager

Community: All FLY Counties (Alameda, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Contra Costa)

Office Location: Oakland, CA 

Compensation: $25/hour, 10 hours a week

Internship Duration: January - May, 2026

Talent Intern - Position Summary

The Talent Intern will support the Talent Team in ensuring effective training, recruitment, and hiring. Through their work, some things they will learn include, but is not limited to, how to effectively recruit candidates, how to organize important documents, and how to promote staff retention. 


 

Position Responsibilities


 

General Administrative Support 

  • Maintain Talent Google Drive Folders 
  • Set up for events, trainings, and other Talent related activities 
  • Support with organization of Talent Department supplies 


 

Event Support

  • Purchase supplies for events, holidays, activities etc.
  • Partner with Talent Operations Manager to lead set up for org-wide events 
  • Support with youth program events as needed, including ride support 


 

Hiring & Onboarding Support 

  • Direct outreach to potential candidates
  • Support the logistics coordination of FLY’s onboarding process 
  • Organize onboarding supplies 
  • Support with tracking and maintenance of staffing data 


 

Professional Development 

  • Participate in trainings offered and other professional development spaces (i.e. equitable hiring practices)  
  • Learn about your professional strengths and values
  • Shadow Talent Department Operations (i.e. interviews, training facilitation etc.) 
  • Observe and meet FLY staff and various programs and departments  


 

Potential Talent Projects 

  • Report and Presentation on findings from FLY STAY Interviews 
  • Update the FLY Talent Master Interview Guide for Hiring Managers focusing on updated Interview Questions 
  • Collaborating with and supporting the operations department as needed. 


 

Position Requirements

Logistical Requirements: A license and car to be able to commute to work and support events. 


 

Compensation

This position is a role at a rate of $25/hour for 10 hours a week. On staff event weeks, the hours may be temporarily raised, as needed.
