K-8 Technology Teacher

SEEKING K-8 TECHNOLOGY TEACHER FOR 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

The Hellenic Classical Charter Schools are public charter schools located in Brooklyn (HCCS-PS) and Staten Island (HCCS-SI). HCCS provides a classics based education in the study of humanities and literature for students in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grades.

Seeking a dynamic and innovative K–8 Technology Teacher to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction across elementary and middle school grades. The ideal candidate has a passion for educational technology, strong classroom-management skills, and the ability to support students in becoming confident, responsible, and creative digital learners.

The Technology Teacher will be responsible for:

  • Teach technology classes across K–8, including keyboarding, digital citizenship, coding, multimedia projects, and STEM-focused activities
  • Introduce age-appropriate tools (e.g., Scratch Jr, Scratch, Google Workspace, Coding)
  • Support students in problem-solving, creativity, and digital literacy
  • Integrate technology skills into project-based learning
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and IT staff
  • Manage devices, troubleshoot basic issues, and ensure responsible use of school technology
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
  • Preferred: Experience with Scratch/Scratch Jr, Google Workspace, Coding, iPads, Chromebooks

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Experience teaching or working with students in K–8 settings
  • Strong understanding of digital tools, coding platforms, and educational
  • technology
  • Preferred: Experience with Scratch/Scratch Jr, Google Workspace, Coding, iPads, Chromebooks
