All Sports Specialist (Outside Sports)
Responsible for planning, organizing and teaching various Outdoor Sport activities for campers. From kickball to ultimate frisbee, we get supplies and you create a summer of fun. Support the Administrative staff by providing a safe and fun summer Camp experience filled with adventure. Lunch Included.
Responsibilities include and not limited to:
- Setup your activity location Saturday/Sunday before Camp
- Plan, develop, and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities for Campers over an eight-week schedule (1 activity each week taught multiple times)
- Submit curriculum and supply needs to Director of Operations before camp with enough time for standard delivery
- Instruct and lead Campers in your activity including a period of skills training and free activity such as playing a game
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all Campers, adhering to safety guidelines and Camp Policies
- Be a source of encouragement and support to Campers, fostering personal growth and skill development
- Work with group counselors to have them assist you appropriately in your activity
- Be a positive role model for Campers and counselors by demonstrating leadership, teamwork and good sportsmanship and supervise groups to ensure Campers and counselors are displaying good sportsmanship, cooperation and teamwork
- Where applicable, supervise a Leader In Training Camper (14/15yr old)
- Maintain and organize equipment, supplies, and activity areas and notifying Operations Unit Head of needs
- Adapt activities as needed to accommodate Campers with different abilities and interests
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments for improvement
- Work as a team with other Activity Specialists to ensure morning set-up and breakdowns in various areas are complete including Ice Water Coolers, cones, inflatables, and other equipment
- Attend a 8:45am Specialist Meeting each morning of Camp in the location specified by Director of Operations
- Attend a virtual Specialist Orientation held in the evening during the week before Camp
- Break down activity area daily as required and completely on last day of camp
