Weekend Camp Counselor

Weekend Camp Counselors Needed

Easterseals Wisconsin is seeking camp counselors for weekend camp sessions throughout the school year. Camp counselors will have the following responsibilities:

1. Accept responsibility for the overall health and safety of the campers
2. Familiarize self with needs of camper group (typically 2-6 campers, along with a co-counselor)
3. Assist camper group in personal care as needed. Including but not limited to: dressing, toileting, eating, showering, lifting and transferring
4. Assist other staff with their campers once own campers' needs are met
5. Create a detailed summary of campers' session
6. Ensure that campers in your group are on time for medications, meals, and activities
7. Responsible for supervising dorm/cabin, including overnight
8. Assist with camp clean up on last day of each session
9. Assist campers to participate fully in each activity, including evening programs and trips.
10. Respect confidentiality of campers

Qualifications include:

1. Must be 18 years of age
2. Ability to perform all job responsibilities and duties
3. Willingness to make a commitment to campers, Easterseals Camp philosophy and to the camp guidelines, policies, and procedures.
4. Ability to work as a team member
5. Endurance to spend long periods of time on your feet.
6. Ability to life 50 pounds to waist level
