Summer Camp Senior Staff

Join the Camp Anokijig Senior Staff team for our 101st summer season and be part of a century-long tradition of fun and growth. Senior Staff live at camp, guiding and caring for campers ages 7-14 while running one of our many program areas. You will gain valuable leadership skills, mentor teen leaders, and create unforgettable experiences for campers. Staff live onsite starting in late May/early June through mid to late August with meals and housing provided, and work alongside a supportive team in a beautiful outdoor setting. Must be 18+ or a high school graduate by June 13, 2026 and be ready for an adventure-packed summer!

Job Summary: 

As a member of the Senior Staff at Camp Anokijig, you will play a vital role in creating an unforgettable summer experience for campers ages 7-14. Senior Staff live with and are responsible for the daily care, supervision, and guidance of campers while also leading and overseeing one of our camp’s program areas. Additionally, you will mentor and supervise teen leaders (counselors-in-training) who assist in these areas, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment for both campers and teens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care and guidance to campers aged 7-14 in a residential camp.
  • Lead a program area (e.g., waterfront, archery) by planning and overseeing activities.
  • Mentor teen leaders to develop their leadership skills and assist with camper care.
  • Collaborate with staff to foster a positive camp environment and support events.
  • Serve as a role model, ensuring a safe and inclusive atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or 18 years old by June 13, 2026
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for working with children and teens
  • Ability to live and work in a camp setting for the summer, including being part of a close-knit community
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain - training provided through Anokijig)
