Bilingual Counseling Intern

Overview  
Alex Brito Counseling LLC is seeking a compassionate, bilingual (Spanish/English) Master’s Level Counseling Intern to join a small, growing private practice serving diverse individuals, couples, and families in a culturally responsive, trauma‑informed setting. This hybrid internship combines in‑person sessions in West Michigan with secure telehealth services and is designed to meet common graduate counseling practicum/internship requirements.

Alex Brito Counseling LLC is a bilingual private practice committed to high‑quality, trauma‑informed care with special attention to immigrant and Latino/a/x communities. The practice emphasizes ethical, culturally responsive work and strong supervision to support emerging clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide individual, couple, and family therapy in a hybrid format (in‑office and telehealth) under supervision.
• Conduct intakes, assessments, and treatment planning, and complete timely, accurate electronic documentation.
• Carry a gradually increasing caseload to help meet your required direct service hours.
• Participate in weekly supervision and case consultation focused on clinical skills, ethics, and multicultural competence.
• Engage in occasional outreach or resource-building for Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities, as appropriate.
Training and Supervision
• Weekly individual or triadic supervision with a licensed mental health professional.
• Feedback on case conceptualization, clinical documentation, and observed or recorded sessions.
• Coordination with your university regarding learning objectives, required hours, and evaluations.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related behavioral health field, and eligible for practicum or internship.
• Advanced proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English; able to conduct full therapy sessions in both languages.
• Demonstrated interest in trauma-informed, culturally responsive work with Latino/a/x and immigrant communities.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work in a hybrid model with appropriate privacy and technology for telehealth.
Schedule and Compensation
• Hybrid schedule combining in-person and telehealth hours; exact times coordinated with program requirements and client needs.
• Typical expectation: 15–25 hours per week or per your program’s structure and hour requirements.
