Medical Associates is seeking a Full Time, Part Time, or PRN MRI Technologist to join their team! MRI technologists at Medical Associates are educated, trained, and licensed to perform a wide array of imaging exams and procedures on patients of all age. A full time MRI position is eligible for a $5,000 bonus opportunity!

Schedule: Position is scheduled in 9-hour shifts between 6:00am and 5:30pm Monday – Friday. No weekends or holidays!

Essential Duties:

  • Perform special and general diagnostic medical imaging procedure producing quality images for interpretation by physician, specific skills in MRI
  • Elicit patient histories from medical charts and the patient; explain and prepare patient for procedures
  • Ability to post processor images and prepares study for Radiologist/Physician to read
  • Communicate with Radiologist or Physician to select appropriate parameters
  • Monitor patient's condition during procedure and initiate appropriate life support if necessary
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with pertinent supplies
  • Schedule patients and maintain accurate charge tickets
  • Maintain proper information in the RIS, tracking images to various other locations
  • Apply principles of magnetic safety and protection to both patients and staff
  • Cannulate veins for administration of contrast material or other medications
  • Perform Quality Assurance. reporting any malfunction to Manager Radiology

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study or certification. Board certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. 

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.

Other Skills: PACS, Cerner, MRI unit, gurney, wheelchair, injection paraphernalia, power injectors, and vein cannulization, as well as, MRI safety. Ability to work independently, multitask, complete quality exams in a fast paced environment. Good computer skills, as well as, strong written and verbal communication skills.
