Valley Sleep and Wellness Center (VSWC) is seeking to hire a Part Time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to participate in the rewarding work of assisting physicians with delivering primary health care to our patients. REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of State Registered Nurse license
- National certification
- 3 or more years of professional clinical experience in a clinic setting is preferred
Professional clinical experience in a clinic setting is preferred. Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Interpret and integrate data and order laboratory studies and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as indicated
- Review lab and sleep studies results, in consultation with the supervising physician as indicated
- Submit patient health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician
- Refer patient to physician or specialist for consultation
- Review consultation reports, in consultation with the supervising physician as indicated
- Counsel patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and management options. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instruct patient and authorized family members regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.
- Maintain medical record in the problem-oriented format as per standard company/site practice
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
- Attend required meetings as requested
- Participate in professional development and maintain professional affiliations
- Maintain strictest patient confidentiality in compliance with Federal and State laws
