Do you love pickleball and enjoy helping people learn, stay active, and have fun? The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Pickleball Instructors to lead instructional programs for adults and youth at a variety of skill levels.

What You’ll Do
As a Pickleball Instructor, you will:
Plan and teach pickleball classes, clinics, drills, and skill-building sessions
Instruct participants using effective demonstrations and clear, encouraging communication
Adapt teaching techniques to support beginners through more advanced players
Create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment for all ages and abilities
Ensure safety by supervising participants and maintaining program guidelines
Manage program equipment and maintain accurate attendance and program forms
Represent the Parks & Recreation Department with professionalism and positivity
Every session you teach will help participants improve their skills, stay active, and connect with others in our community.
About You
You’re energetic, patient, and passionate about pickleball. You enjoy teaching others, communicating clearly, and fostering an encouraging environment where everyone feels successful.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
Experience playing, coaching, or instructing pickleball OR equivalent sports instruction experience
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to adapt instruction to a variety of skill levels and learning styles

Pay & Perks
Pay Rate: $15–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Irregular part-time schedule based on program needs
Some evening and weekend classes may be required
