Secondary Language Arts Teacher
Grace Christian School (GCS) is seeking a passionate and resourceful full-time language arts teacher for our English/Honors English (9 & 10), and English, Honors English, & AP English (11 & 12) classes within our high school.
Successful candidates will have the ability to inspire & guide students into developing a Biblical worldview of their being created in the image of God and thus having inherent communicative and creative capacities even as they enhance their language skills, discernment, and reasoning.
Fundamental Qualifications:
- Be a professing Christian who is active in a local church,
- Obtained a bachelor's degree in an associated field or be an individual with requisite work experience,
- Possess strong communication (written and verbal), people, organizational, and technological skills.
GCS, founded in 1980, assists Christian parents by providing a sound academic education in a Christ-centered environment designed to prepare our young people to know God and to live in obedience to His will for their lives. Staunton, a city of 25,000, is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and is the principal city of the Staunton-Waynesboro Metropolitan Statistical Area (125,000 people). The city has a historic downtown filled with small shops and restaurants, and a strong fine arts tradition. The area around Staunton is rural farmland and has easy access to hiking and camping, as well as access to larger cities like Richmond, and Washington, D.C.
