Salary: $86,450–$105,196
Appointment: Full-time, up to 36 months

About the Role

Join the SFPUC’s Natural Resources & Lands Management team and help restore and protect over 61,000 acres of Bay Area watershed lands. This role is hands-on and perfect for students or early-career professionals interested in ecology, habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, and environmental fieldwork.

You’ll support a 36-month project focused on native plant restoration, invasive species control, and monitoring sensitive wildlife habitats.

What You’ll Work On

Habitat restoration and native plant stewardship

Invasive plant removal and Early Detection & Rapid Response (EDRR) work

Rare plant and nesting bird surveys

Biomonitoring during tree removal and field operations

Seed collection, propagation, and restoration planting

GIS data entry, mapping, and field documentation

Trail maintenance, erosion control, and watershed cleanup

Supporting endangered species like the Mission Blue butterfly, CA red-legged frog, and SF garter snake

Who We’re Looking For

2 years experience in natural resources, habitat restoration, ecology, or related work

Coursework in biology, ecology, botany, or environmental science can substitute

Valid California Driver License

Willing to obtain a Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) within 12 months

Comfortable working outdoors and doing hands-on fieldwork

Schedule & Worksite

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
