About the Organization
The Royal Oak Leprechauns compete in the Northwoods League, the largest and most competitive summer collegiate baseball league in North America. The Northwoods League features many of the top college players in the country, and a significant number go on to play professionally each year.
Since joining the league, the Leprechauns have built a strong community presence in Royal Oak, offering a high-energy, fan-focused game experience at Memorial Park. The organization continues to grow rapidly and has established itself as a destination for aspiring sports professionals seeking real development, fast-paced work experience, and a fun team environment.
Internship Dates
Start Date: On or near May 11
End Date: On or near August 22
Academic Qualifications
Majors in Sport Management, Business, Hospitality, Communications, Food Service, and related fields
Primary Responsibilities
Each Stadium Operations Intern will oversee and assist with ballpark operations throughout the summer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Concessions & Operations Oversight
Manage assigned concessions locations on game days
Track inventory for assigned food and beverage areas
Assist with food and beverage re-orders
Monitor food quality control and safety standards
Track and reduce food waste
Support stadium cleaning and maintenance quality checks
Oversee pre-game and post-game stadium upkeep
General Ballpark Operations
Ensure overall stadium cleanliness
Assist with basic facility maintenance and preemptive repair needs
Support deliveries and storage organization
Participate in gameday setup and breakdown
Complete ballpark recovery tasks such as power washing or organizing materials
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work all home games and events throughout the summer
Positive attitude and strong teamwork mentality
Leadership ability and willingness to take initiative
Customer service or management experience preferred
Food service or cash-handling experience a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets
Ability to work long days (up to 12–14 hours) and lift 25 lbs
Strong communication and multitasking abilities
Compensation
This is an educational internship providing hands-on experience.
There is no hourly wage, and interns are not considered employees of the organization. Interns receive training, mentorship, and practical industry experience as the primary benefit.
The Royal Oak Leprechauns will provide a monthly stipend to help offset living expenses such as housing, food, and transportation.
Housing & Living Arrangements
Housing is not provided. Interns are responsible for securing summer housing.
