Brokerage Operations Intern (Summer 2026)

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The Brokerage Operations team’s mission is to deliver radical customer support with a “safety always” mindset as we democratize finance for all. We’re in a constant state of evolution — partnering across Robinhood to drive operational excellence through data, technology, and risk management! You’ll join a team committed to continuous improvement and meaningful collaboration.

As a Brokerage Operations Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple operational domains—supporting processes that power Robinhood’s trading, clearing, and customer experience. You’ll learn how data, technology, and risk management intersect in brokerage operations and work on projects that use analytics, process improvement, and light automation to improve performance, accuracy, and customer trust.

This role is based in our New York, Denver, or Chicago offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Work across various departments of the Introducing Broker, Robinhood Financial, and the Clearing Broker, Robinhood Securities and learn the many aspects that comprise the operations of the FINRA-registered Broker/Dealers.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to understand workflows, analyze operational data to identify efficiency opportunities, and make process improvement recommendations (including automation or dashboard enhancements).
  • Assist with small-scale technical projects, such as reconciling datasets, improving data quality, or building Business Intelligence dashboards using tools like Retool or Superset.
  • Deliver a capstone project that applies analytical and problem-solving skills to a real operational challenge, culminating in a presentation to senior leaders.

What you bring

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work with data in Excel, SQL, or Python (basic proficiency preferred).
  • Curiosity about how brokerage operations, risk management, and market infrastructure work together in a fintech environment.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort engaging with cross-functional teams.
  • Intellectual agility — you’re not afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and think critically about processes.
  • Excitement for hands-on learning in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-impact environment.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen or Agile is a plus.

What we offer

  • Market competitive compensation structure
  • Quarterly lifestyle wallet for personal wellness, learning and development, and more!
  • Time away including company holidays, paid time off, and sick time!
  • Lively office environment with catered meals, fully stocked kitchens, and geo-specific commuter benefits
