CORE Recreation Instructor

The Cosumnes Community Services District Parks and Recreation Department is seeking dynamic and qualified individuals for the position of CORE Recreation Instructor. 

Position Description

Under general supervision, the CORE Recreation Instructor teaches Recreation and Leisure Enrichment classes to a variety of skill and age levels. The Recreation Instructor may teach specialized classes for one or more recreation program areas, including the development and implementation of the program curriculum and budget, procurement of program supplies, and assisting with the training of support staff. This position directs activities and supervises participants at the site. Instructors will lead a variety of enrichment programs focused on dance, fitness, wellness, and more. Specialized class instruction opportunities include, but are not limited to:  Les Mills Body Balance, Les Mills Body Pump, Mat Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, Bollywood Dance, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Certified Personal Training, Group Fitness, and more.

CORE is opening in spring 2025 and aims to be a high-quality fitness and sports center that has everything community members need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. CORE is 59,000 square feet, offering cardio and strength equipment, boutique group fitness, an indoor walking track, two gyms, habit and nutrition coaching, and more. Plus, activities that will keep kids entertained while adults exercise.

Salary Information:
The CORE Recreation Instructor's salary range is between $26.25 - $28.00 per hour. The District typically appoints new employees at step 1 of the salary range. Consideration for an appointment higher than step 1 will be based on experience, education, or the need for unique skills or knowledge and shall be no more than the mid-point of the salary range.
