Position Overview

 

We are seeking a Surgical Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, travel-based role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment, is mechanically inclined, and is passionate about supporting healthcare teams in delivering life-changing procedures.

 

As a Surgical Coordinator, you will be the face of Vantage at surgical sites—ensuring our equipment is set up correctly, functioning perfectly, and backed by excellent customer service.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Travel to client locations (arrival the day prior to surgery) for setup and verification of surgical equipment and disposables
  • Arrive at surgical sites at least 90 minutes prior to procedure start for final equipment checks and prep
  • Operate and troubleshoot ophthalmic surgical equipment during procedures
  • Provide real-time support to surgeons and clinical staff when requested
  • Maintain accurate daily records of usage and ensure proper inventory management
  • Act as the on-site liaison between the client, our operations team, and sales representatives
  • Monitor your work schedule and communicate proactively with internal teams
  • Ensure all client credentialing and compliance documents are always current
  • Practice safe and courteous driving at all times (clean driving record required)
  • Stay current with industry best practices and technologies through ongoing training
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect when interacting with clients and patients
  • Be ready to adapt to fluctuating operational demands while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate’s degree or higher in medical, biological sciences, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in a clinical, surgical, or technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills—critical for surgical equipment support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel 3–4 nights per week
  • Empathetic, professional demeanor with a team-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Adaptable, dependable, and capable of working in dynamic surgical environments
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable working with diverse healthcare professionals under time-sensitive conditions
