Cardiac Rehab Supervisor
Description
The Cardiac Rehab Supervisor is responsible and accountable for directing, coordinating, and facilitating the Cardiovascular Service Line’s Rehabilitation program: Cardiac, Heart Failure, and Pulmonary. Organizes and participates in the program development for clients based on age-appropriate standards as set forth by the applicable accrediting body and based on the medical needs as determined by the client’s referring physicians.
Provides direct supervision of staff and frontline management for the Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab Program.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Degree in Exercise Science, or similar health related field.
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Cardiac Rehab, Medical fitness program or similar setting.
Essential Job Duties:
• Provides direct supervision, frontline management for the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab department
• Assumes oversight over the day-to-day operations of the Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab department including but not limited to: provider and staff schedules, resolving personnel issues and addressing equipment and supply issues.
• Works collaboratively with the Service Line director in interviewing and hiring process to fill any open positions for the C/P Rehab section.
• Participates in the Operating and Capital budget processes for the CV Department, with a focus on the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab section.
• Assists with Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities for the Cardiac/ Pulmonary Rehab Department including those related to accreditation standards.
• Works with compliance and Patient Access to maximize reimbursement and minimize RAC audits.
• Coordinates Department’s unit-based education.
• Coordinates and leads department’s staff meetings.
• Works with departmental Medical Director to assure program goals and protocols are met.
• Manages time and attendance for Cardiac Rehab department.
• Meets all job requirements for an Exercise Physiologist/RN position.
• Serves as a resource for all team members in the department and team leader.
• Serves as the primary resource/POC for the intensive cardiac rehab (ICR) program.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Degree in Exercise Science, or similar health related field.
• Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
• Previous experience in managing a Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab program or previous work in maintaining program accreditation.
