Overview
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician ensures operations and maintenance of the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant. Responsible for  

Responsibilities 

Operates and maintains the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant in compliance with DEP. 

Conducts preventative maintenance program for both plants. 

Orders and stocks all chemicals used in the operation process  

Troubleshoot and repair specialized equipment for utility operation such as compressors, pumps, air blowers, chlorinators etc. 

Cleans bar screens, grit chamber, settling and sludge beds as necessary. 

Collects samples and performs tests including but not limited to dissolved oxygen total solids, suspended solids, settle able solids biological oxygen demands and acid or alkaline tests 

Prepares reports as required on plant operations from the results of daily tests. 

Maintains and operates logs and related records   

Qualifications 

Minimum three years of wastewater treatment plant FIELD 

License: Wastewater Treatment Plant Class C or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License  

Experience with CMMS and computer proficiency preferred. 

Valid driver's license required.
