Entry-Level Civil Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer                Location: Willoughby Hills, Ohio (Lake County)

Description:  Polaris Engineering & Surveying, Inc. seeks to hire a full-time project engineer to join its growing Northeast Ohio engineering and surveying consulting firm. 

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of AutoCAD for plan drafting of Site and Improvement Plans for development projects including residential subdivisions, condo, townhome, apartment developments, commercial and residential site plans, utility planning, etc.
• Design and layout of proposed utilities (i.e. sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water mains, etc.) and site geometrics for proposed projects including notes, details, specifications, etc. as required to prepare design plans.
• Perform grading/contouring of the proposed project site.
• Prepare Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3) as per current state and local requirements including calculations, notes, details, specifications, etc.
• Establishes proposed centerline profiles for proposed roadways and establishes line and grade profiles for all associated utilities according to specifications.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations as required to size storm sewer pipes, detention and storm water quality basins and all drainage appurtenances required for a project.
• Prepares all EPA forms and applications based on established timelines.
• Perform Quantity Take-offs and prepare Cost Estimates for projects.
• Prepares all exhibits and sales maps to ensure the marketability of the sites.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Preferred

Technological Skills:

• Competence with ACAD Civil 3D
• Strom Water Modeling Software (Hydraflow or similar)
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to perform common office tasks

Pay:

• Entry Level starting at $29.00 and elevated based on experience
