Position Overview:
Youth Development Aides directly engage with children at Sarah Heinz House, ensuring a safe, positive, and enriching environment. Staff rotate daily through various program areas—including the gamesroom, open gym, playroom, library, cafe and locker room—where they supervise activities, lead groups, and support programming. Aides serve as role models, maintaining professional relationships with members, parents, volunteers, staff, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Lead and supervise children in assigned program areas.
- Support and implement Sarah Heinz House programs and policies.
- Promote positive values through teaching, discussion, and role modeling.
- Manage and supervise all individuals in program spaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience with children in various settings such as childcare, camps, and daycare is essential for the Youth Development Aide role. Classroom management skills, first aid certification, and a background in special education or teaching are highly valued. Additional relevant skills include tutoring, sports coaching, and experience in early childhood education. Familiarity with behavior management techniques and childhood development principles is also beneficial for this position.
