Quality Control Technician (part-time)

 

1. Collect, prepare, and store retain samples for archival purposes. 
2. Perform tests and record data on master rolls off coaters and finished rolls off slitters including: loop tack, release, silicone stain, silicone coat weight, adhesive coat weight, curl, moisture, visual web inspection and stain, and other miscellaneous tests as requested. 
3. Report deviations from standards to Production Supervisor and operator, documenting observations and corrective actions on retain samples and electronically in test database.  Place nonconforming products on hold as required.
4. Perform required tests on incoming raw materials.  
5. Verify test equipment according to calibration procedures.  
6. Maintain the Quality Control Test Labs in a clean and organized fashion.
7. Support test procedure updates.  
8. Participate in improvement teams for Quality Control and Operations.  
9. Assist Quality staff with additional assignments or projects during slow production periods to maintain productivity and support overall department needs.
10. Maintain professional and respectful working relationships with co-workers.
 

Student studying lab science looking to gain experience in a lab testing environment.  High school diploma with relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.  

Strong organization and communication skills, along with accuracy and high attention to detail are required.  Must have the ability to interpret and report test results in a professional, concise, and effective manner to affected personnel.  Sense of urgency and the ability to work under minimal supervision required.  Proficient in MS Office and general PC usage.  

Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled lab, with regular exposure to manufacturing environment to collect test samples.  Exposure to water-based adhesives and some organic cleaning solvents.  Personal Protective Equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, ear protection) is required on the manufacturing floor.

Flexible hours, free on-site fitness center, $20/hr.
