Time Frame: Summer 2026 (10 weeks, full-time)
Work Location: (Hybrid) EPP

Financial Aid: $2,700 (minus taxes) housing stipend for relocation from more than 50 miles from Madison headquarters
Additional Compensation Details:  For our Actuarial Internships, compensation is also based on the number of exams/modules passed

Positions: 4-8 interns

 

Emerging Professional Program (EPP)

An internship path focused on equipping graduating students with the tools/skills needed to transition into a potential career at TruStage. Interns receive comprehensive support and guidance to enhance their company knowledge, integrate into the company culture, and develop key connections. This pathway enables young professionals to be considered for potential opportunities at TruStage.

 

We are offering two distinct Actuarial Internship opportunities. Applicants should apply to only one position.

  • Early Development Program Internship: Best suited for freshmen and sophomores.
  • Emerging Professional Program Internship: Intended for juniors and those further along in their academic careers

 

Job Purpose: 
We are looking for an analytical individual with a demonstrated understanding of actuarial and statistical concepts. The Actuarial Intern will be an active member of a team and do meaningful work to help the company further its mission of creating a brighter financial future for everyone. Work may be part of a larger project with multiple contributors or individually driven. In this internship, you will gain exposure to a corporate environment and have access to senior leadership. Attention to detail, willingness to learn from mistakes, independence, and clear communication are necessary to succeed in this internship. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting property & casualty, life, annuity, retirement, or health practice areas
  • Creating and running actuarial programs on PolySystems, GGY Axis, ResQ, Python, SQL, or R
  • Maintaining and enhancing spreadsheets
  • Visualizing data in Power BI or Excel
  • Performing experience studies to set reasonable actuarial assumptions
  • Calculating interest rates and dividends
  • Pricing, reserving, or modeling
  • Making recommendations
  • Presenting and explaining your work to others

Job Requirements:

  • Working towards a relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Risk Management & Insurance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or related field
  • Passed 1 or more SOA or CAS actuarial exams (but not required)
  • Prior internship experience (but not required)
