Direct Support Professional
Social Service agency in Union County is currently seeking Full Time Direct Support Professionals to join our team to make a difference in someone's life!
The role of a DSP is to assist in the daily care of people with disabilities and provide on site supervision and support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Your vital job functions are essential to members’ health, safety and welfare.
Full-Time hours are 3:00 PM -11:00 PM and includes weekends, days will vary depending on the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist individuals needs and develops an effective counseling/support relationship
- Provides hands on assistance with activities of daily living including bathing and hygiene, and helps with fire drills and/or other health and safety issues as needed
- Helps ensure a safe, clean, organized, environment
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Helps resolve member and family concerns
- Attends required trainings, staff meetings, and other meetings/events as requested
- Provides assistance for daily living skills, supportive counseling and direct care assistance.
- Food shopping menu planning and meal preparation
- Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties
- Collaborate with families and superiors for best care opportunities
- Helping to arrange and attend social activities
- Transporting members to and from work or day program, a medical appointment, etc
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Valid driver's license
- Car to use for work purposes
- Willing and able to attend required trainings outside of normal work hours
