Student Founder of National Health Equity Nonprofit Chapter
Are you passionate about health equity and ready to lead change? I am pleased to invite student leaders to join United Against Inequities in Disease (UAID)—the nation’s oldest 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to students advancing health equity (uaid.org).
Leaders of UAID benefit from a number of valuable opportunities including:
- Comprehensive training in health equity
- Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating community health projects
- Real-world experience addressing local health inequities
- Opportunities to publish in a peer-reviewed academic journal
- Experience writing abstracts, creating research posters, and presenting projects at national conferences
- Participation in national case study competitions
- The ability to earn certificates in Health Equity Training, Community Service, and Leadership in Health Equity as well as graduation cords
- Leadership opportunities and development of professional skills valued by health professions programs (e.g., AAMC core competencies)
- Regular mentorship from experts in public health
- Opportunities to fulfill academic credit, practicum, or capstone requirements
